Calling all Irish Primary School Teachers
We are a passionate group of scientists who love what we do and want to share it with the world! That’s why we created the Meet the Scientist Webinar Series.

Our webinars are completely free and designed for kids in 4th, 5th, and 6th class in primary school. Each session features a scientist (who loves their work) and wants to share their personal journey—their background, hobbies, career path, and a fascinating scientific topic.

After the talk, kids from across the country engage in a live Q&A session, asking their own questions and making the experience even more interactive and fun!

Over 53,000 children across Ireland
joined the series in 2023/2024

What we offer

Meet scientists who love their work
Kids get the unique opportunity to interact directly with scientists in a safe, online environment within the classroom. Our scientists are passionate about what they do and want to share, not only the joy of their work, but also their personal journeys. They aim to show kids that scientists are just like them—curious, creative, and full of wonder.

Enhanced Learning Experience
The webinars provide an interactive platform for kids to learn beyond the textbook and see the real-world application of science. Fun presentations and discussions on scientific topics can help stimulate curiosity and deepen understanding.

Building Science Capital
The series helps kids see how science is part of everyday life and why it's important, making them more confident and interested in science.
Promoting diversity
in STEM fields

We aim to help all primary school kids meet diverse role models from different backgrounds, including gender, ethnicity, education, and abilities.

We actively feature people who break stereotypes so every child can see themselves in science.

This approach ensures that every child feels included, represented, and inspired by the world of science.

If your school enjoyed the webinars and is eager for a more hands-on experience, this free Competition is for you.
The START Competition challenges 4th, 5th and 6th class children, to design their own randomised trial and explore various curriculum areas through practical, hands-on and engaging activities.
Including Maths, Science, Language, and Visual Arts, students will develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
The Competition will open shortly and entries can be submitted until April, giving your class plenty of time to consider taking part and submit your entries.
